Early Mama is for anyone who became a parent earlier than they expected, their families expected, and/or society expected.
Early Mama is for anyone who chose an earlier-than-the-norm path — whether it was 16 minutes or 16 years ago. For anyone feeling isolated and embarrassed, or just in need of some encouragement.
Early Mama is for the modern 20-something looking for the resources on how to be better, do more, and tackle their goals.
Early Mama is the site that I was desperately searching for when I had my son at 22 years old — back when I was clinging to any hope that I could still have a successful career, a healthy relationship, and a fulfilled life.
There are a lot of really positive reasons to love being an "early mama" — yes! let's talk about those! — but there are also some possible obstacles.
How do we balance our competing roles (mother, wife, employee, student) while growing into adulthood? It's difficult to take on so many responsibilities at once — especially without the perspective that comes from life experience, or even just the luxury of easing into each role, one at a time.
How can we continue to develop into strong, smart, self-assured women, all while taking care of a young family?
How can we nurture a young relationship when the odds are against us?
I don't want to just talk about these things. I want to learn from one another — to share tips and experiences, in the hope of being better, stronger, more confident. I want to create a community that supports and inspires. I want to prove that becoming a mother doesn't limit or define us — and I want to prove that any mother, at any age, can be her best self.
